The Devouring

If you plan on reading Simon Holt's The Devouring, then I suggest you stop reading right now...there way be slight spoilers (maybe; I think)... Anyway, Wednesday I went to Mayfair Mall and went to Barnes 'n Noble. I asked if they had The Devouring (a book I don't know where I've heard of, but remember looking it up on www.barnesandnoble.com and wanting to get it). Luckily, they had just gotten it on paperback. And so I got it and was delighted.

Three days later I'm completely sucked into it.

I didn't expect it to be so good really. I mean, it sounded good, but I was still a bit doubtful and thought it was going to be slow. Exact opposite actually. You can ask anyone who has seen me reading this book. They know that I've been reacting vocally to this piece of literature. Mostly I've been gasping and saying the following:

"WHAT?!?"

"What the --?"

"Oh my God!"

What is this "super special awesome" book about, you ask? BAM, synopsis right here:

When Reggie finds an old journal and reads about the Vours, supernatural creatures who feast on fear and attack on the eve of the winter solstice, she assumes they are just the musings of some lunatic author. But soon, they become a terrifying reality when she begins to suspect that her timid younger brother might be one of their victims.Risking her life and her sanity, Reggie enters a living nightmare to save the people she loves. Can she devour own her fears before they devour her?

So yes, I suggest you get this book and read it. You'll enjoy it. It's a horror and a suspense. I love it. =D

Did you write that synopsis yourself or take it off the back of the book? (Because if you wrote it yourself I think you should write synopses for a living)

Ahh, sadly no, I didn't write the synopsis. I got it from www.barnesandnoble.com. I WISH I wrote it. Which reminds me, I think you should read my stories and tell me if I'm any good.
